Mark Ryden’s artwork entitled Goodbye Bear. I got this a month after my sixteenth birthday, it was my first tattoo, and the image was taken literally a few minutes right after my tattoo artist had finished.
I basically got this tattoo because I’d been obsessing over Ryden’s art for a few years and had fallen in love with the painting. I had originally planned to get the tattoo when I was fifteen, but I was too young to get any ink. For me, it symbolizes me saying goodbye to my childhood, but at the same time holding onto it and remembering to be a kid. The tattoo took around two and half hours, he’s a great artist, and I plan on going back in the future for more tattoos.
Done at Beneath the Skin in Las Cruces, New Mexico by Daniel Dagones.
I still love this tattoo as much as I did the day I got it.
